Janet: writer, zinesta, performer, and general muckraker. She thwarts professionalism, adopting new roles, new outfits, new hairstyles, old outfits in an effort to deconstruct systematized roles and conflated structures, be they academic, political or social. She shamelessly self-advertises, growing her fame through her ingenious branding program.  Her low-brow, highly unprofessional zines and performances launched in highly professional contexts such as Helen Pitt Gallery and Emily Carr University concourse gallery in Vancouver.   At first Janet was three: Christine Ferguson, Camilla Pickard and Amy Modahl.  Then she was two, minus Christine.  Lately she's been represented by Amy alone, pairing with other artists and writers.
